TODD ENGLISH FOOD HALL

A Touch of the English at the Plaza Hotel, NYC

Throughout Europe it is common to see mosaics used on ceilings. Here in the States, not as much. So we were thrilled when designer Jeffrey Beers envisioned a European-style food hall concept for chef Todd English at New York’s famed Plaza Hotel. The Jeffrey Beers team came to us with a plan for a gorgeous open pasta kitchen with a backsplash wall and barrel-vaulted ceiling they wanted to cover with a stunning mosaic. See how we achieved this with a custom version of the Modern pattern from our Moment Collection. Read the full case study on our blog.

LOTTE NEW YORK PALACE HOTEL

A Luxury Suite Inspired by Champagne

AKDO was privileged to work with acclaimed architects and thought leaders HOK as they conjured a champagne-themed design for this sprawling 5,000 square foot hotel suite, with breathtaking vistas of Manhattan landmarks and three floors of spectacular décor. This extravagant space at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel is among the most luxurious accommodations anywhere. One of its most dramatic aspects is a two-story feature wall of custom-crafted, split-face stone mosaic that wraps from the living room entry wall all the way throughout the well of the grand staircase. See how we did it on our blog.
