Set within downtown Chicago’s coveted Gold Coast, The Ritz Carlton is an opportunity to experience the city’s past and present through eye-catching visuals and curated experiences. Looking to refashion its historic property with bold architectural design, the Building Owners and Managers Association of San Francisco (BOMA) was looking for a striking floor tile that evoked creativity and authentic character at the most high-traffic public area in the hotel: the lobby.

Ritz Carlton Lobby

AKDOLAM’s porcelain-backed marble tiles were the perfect fit for the job as it had the ability to be custom cut to 34” x 34” graphic squares, made up of 4 trapezoids and 2 triangle-shaped marble pieces, in Calacatta Gold and Negro Marquina stone. The design team was confident installing AKDOLAM in this high traffic lobby as it is known for its durability and high impact resistance.
